U2 rend hommage à la princesse Diana lors du concert de Dublin. Le monde est choqué par la mort de la princesse Diana dans la nuit, dans un accident de voiture à Paris. C'est un spectacle plus personnel que la veille, avec plusieurs chansons dédiées aux familles et amis du groupe. Lorsque "Gone" commence, Bono chante "Elle est partie ... elle est partie ...", fut la première des nombreuses références à Diana. A la fin de "Mysterious Ways", Bono retourne sur la scène principale avec la tête baissée et semble pleurer. Il commence à chanter "MLK", et quand il atteint la deuxième lettre de "sleep tonight", une image de Diana apparaît à l'écran.
